Sorry I haven't posted for a while, its just been a bit hectic this past week and moving house = no internet. But I am back and here is a little shorts DIY that I did about two weeks ago.
I had a pair of River Island shorts which are very short. They look fine when worn with tights but I want to be able to wear them with or without tights and not feel really self conscious.
So I decided to add some lace. I went to the fabric shop and bought some cream strip lace which cost 35p a metre, some dark green thread and some needles. Its actually a lot easier to do than I thought it would be, I pinned the lace to the inside of the shorts and tried them on to see if I liked the length etc and then simply sewed all around the lace so that it was firmly in place.
Because I used dark green lace and sewed really close to the hem line, you can't see the sewing at all.
And thats the finished result. I am really pleased with how they turned out and in fact I think i prefer them with the lace than without. And I can walk down the street without hundreds of people seeing my bum cheeks waving at them. Its a win all round!
WOW!! Really chic!!
