Work OOTD!

Here is what I wore to work the other day, just thought I would give you a little sneak peek into my office wardrobe. I find it extremely difficult to dress for work as it is really easy to look boring and dull under layers of grey and white. I work in a warehouse so my office clothes have to be smart yet practical.
When I wear this shirt I like to wear my hair up as there is so much detailing on the back it can look overwhelming and I want to show off the lace.
Brown Leather Belt - Vintage Levis
Black Skinny Jeans are the perfect item of clothing as they are so versatile. They can look smart, scruffy, chic depending on what they are teamed with. I like them for work as they are really comfortable when sat at your desk.
Black Skinny Jeans - New Look - £19.99

Brown Loafers - Tesco - £12
I have never bought shoes from Tesco before and was quite dubious from the price. But they are really comfortable, well made and look smart. I also like that the colour is more of a tan than brown.
Shirt - River Island
I wear minimal Jewellery whilst at work because it means I don't jingle and clatter around all day long especially when I'm on the phone.

Kerr blimey...

On a recent trip to New York, Victorias Secret Model and just general stunner Miranda Kerr has been showing off her incredible wardrobe. I thought I would share some of the images. She shows how you can look amazing everyday even when on mummy duty.

These jeans make her legs look ridiculously long.
I really love this relaxed look, the hat just makes it feel a little bit special.

And to prove she really does have it all, a snap with her drop dead gorgeous movie star hubby...

... and she looks like this after having a baby. Jealous much??

inside out...

Just a quick post on an outfit I wore the other day because the sun was shining. My t-shirt was from Primark mens section in small. I haven't decided on what to do with it yet and whether to cut it up and do a bit of DIY. For now I have just turned the sleeves up because the print is really bright on the inside  of the top. I love the print. I have tucked it into my Topshop denim hot pants because otherwise it is really long and i look naked.

Topshop - Denim Shorts
Iv pinned my hair into a top bun, Im getting slightly obsessed with the bigger the bun the better which is killing my hair with backcombing.
T-Shirt - Primark Mens

Moccasins - River Island - £15 (sale)
I love these shoes because the tassels shake as I walk and I feel like Pocahontas.
Leather belt - ASOS
I teamed with them with my favourite moccasins and leather plaited belt.

nails nail nails...

While having a cosy friday night in on my own watching an Officer and a Gentlemen on Tv I thought I would have another attempt at some funky nails. This time I decided to go a little bit floral. I used a Nails inc. in Basil Street for the base coat, and then used a hair grip to create dots on the top coat. I started by doing the centre of the flower using No7 Stay Perfect in Poolside Blue (one of my favourites at the moment) and followed by dotting the petals with a Barry M polish in Raspberry. Once completely dry to avoid smudging I applied a top coat from the No7 range.

Please excuse the pink tint around my nails, my last nail varnish stained really badly.
Although the background is more yellow, the nails appear more true to colour in this image.
Actually the more I look at the images the more I like them. Think i may be getting a bit nail art obsessed!!

To the hills...

You don't really need words to describe these images... Simply Stunning.

Mulberry A/W 12/13

I am in love with these new images for the Mulberry A/W 12/13 Ad campaign. Inspired by the tale of 'When you came down to the woods today', it really embraces all things British. I think it is very important that brands should stay true to their roots, t encourages young talents to work hard and gives them something to aspire to.

Tim walker is a fantastic photographer, I personally always look forward to seeing the Mulberry adverts each season. The previous images for S/S 2012, based around brighton with oversized seaside paraphernalia were also amazing. He really gets in touch with the soul of Britain and he portrays the seasons perfectly.

My Mulberry love continues....

The newest addition....

I have a really bad love for bags... and shoes... and clothes, fashion in general really. My latest addition to the family is this gorgeous tassel trimmed bag from Urban Outfitters. I got it in the sale after waiting for months for it, reduced from nearly £50 to £25. Its absolutely perfect.

It has a lovely soft leather exterior and suede tassels. A brilliant zip pouch on the back and the interior is split into several compartments, one zipped, one pouch and a larger space all sealed with a larger outer zip. The Bag seals with a magnetic clasp to the exterior making it a really safe bag to carry around, especially as it is large enough to fit all your essentials.

Although everyone loves a designer bag, I personally think the quality of this UO satchel is amazing, especially for the price. There are many designer bags which have the same native american feel to them. Here are a few that I really like at the moment. However, the aspect I prefer on my own bag, is the plait detail down the front.

Miu Miu - Fringe Hobo
It is this Miu Miu bag which is my favourite, I think this is due to the subtle fringing. Its classy and subtle.

thanks for the nail ideas...

So after the last nail blog and ideas from people. This time I tried using a hair grip to make little hearts on my nails, a suggestion from Helen :) - http://helendushko.blogspot.co.uk. However this didn't quite work and i turned the blobby mess into crosses.

I don't think the pictures do them justice really, i think they look a bit better in the flesh.
Although they aren't the best nail designs ever, I think I'm getting better :)
I used a Nails inc. polish in Victoria for my base coat and for the top detail I used a No7 Stay Perfect colour in Jammy. I absolutely love the No7 polish, I got it using a £5 off voucher from Boots so it cost me £2 - bargain. It is pink but with an iridescent shimmer, gorgeous for summer. The nails inc polishes are always lovely and strong in colour and I find they last for ages without a top coat if I'm feeling lazy. I also love the names they call them. And No7 is just a classic beauty staple. The colour range isn't huge but they are of very high quality. I do find they take a two coats to get the full intensity of colour but again it stays on my nails for ages. Another good investment is the No7 top coat. It dries them quickly, gives a good shine and makes them vibrant for far longer.

Hungry?

Finally my new issue of Hunger has arrived. Although only being around for two issues so far, it is my favourite magazine by far. Created by famous photographer Rankin, it features only his images and in turn his abilities to photograph in every style imaginable. He is so diverse in his work and rarely is there an image I dislike.
I have chosen two articles that I really admire from this issue. The first is a showcase of some of the biggest names in fashion today. These images are absolutely gorgeous. The creations by Christian Dior and Emilio Pucci have been given life and vitality within the frames due to the movements portrayed. Although keeping the classic nature of fashion photography by shooting in black and white, they are completely modern images.

My favourite article features one of my favourite models, Heidi Klum. I don't think a lot needs to be said to appreciate the beauty of these images. Klum fits this role perfectly... a beautiful rebel.
